The daughter of a Lebanese gravedigger, Rosine “Ace” Hatem grew up in Methuen, Massachusetts, helping her father in a local cemetery, learning to love the physical work that came with his job and the great outdoors. She’s the first to admit that most people are uncomfortable in cemeteries, but for her it was great! “A sports lover from day one, as a kid, I took my nickname ‘Ace’ from Ace Bailey of the Boston Bruins.”

“Sports, sports, sports! That was my life.” In high school, Ace signed up for every athletic program possible – field hockey, basketball, softball, track, the works. She even excelled in Karate. She was the first female in her hometown to get a blackbelt and went on to win a national AAU Championship.

By the age of fifteen, Ace knew she wanted to be a professional stuntwoman, giving up a four-year scholarship to play field hockey in order to pursue her dream. She made her way out to sunny California where she attended UCLA, continuing her education in kinesiology and physical education. She ended up meeting living legend Gene LeBelle who taught her Judo and stunt skills. "Uncle Gene" paved the way to Ace's first movie, "The Boston Bad Guys", in which Ace doubled Ruth Buzzi, using the skills taught by him. Another mentor was Bennie "The Jet" Urquidez who taught her how to professionally box and kickbox, which eventually landed Ace in a boxing role in Clint Eastwood's Oscar-winning "Millionaire Dollar Baby", the highlight of her career. Along the way, other stunt performers took her under their wings and she began to train enthusiastically in all facets of stunts – highfalls, stairfalls, fighting (including hitting the ground hard), car hits, fireburns, even precision car driving. Ace also developed her natural acting abilities which led to several acting roles.

Ace is a member of the prestigious Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
